1 Red Umbrella

Inspired by the puddles and rain boots that are part of my everyday now, I created a rainy-day inspired set of math activities! 


Targeted for preschool and kindergarten, it covers: patterning, sorting, counting,  picture addition and fine motor skill practise. It also includes my 1 Red Umbrella poem, teacher's guide and response sheet!

Where's Teddy? (Freebie!)

With St. Patrick's Day around the corner, I've created a festive version of my student's favourite game!

Where's Teddy? allows students to practise number recognition, more/ less and number sequence both as a class or in small self-led groups.

ps. I'm back! The 1st-year-in-Kindergarten-flu hit me quite hard with weeks and weeks of school-food-sleep being my routine. Spring Break is giving me a welcome rest and an opportunity to get back into the teacher blogging community!

TED Talks: A little 2012 Inspiration

TED, for those like me a few months back who had never heard of it, is a wonderful online database of speakers sharing.. ideas, innovations, thoughts, dreams and insights.

One favorite of mine is linked up below (click on the image). The title, "schools kill creativity," is a little hostile. The talk, however, is more of a call to prioritize the arts, free expression and a re-examination of what's important to learn. Certainly something to think about over my morning cereal!
